Radon Testing & Mitigation
Know What's in Your Air
Radon is an invisible, odorless gas that can enter your home through the soil beneath your foundation. The only way to know if your home has elevated radon levels is to test.We provide professional radon testing and mitigation services throughout Northeast Ohio using reliable continuous radon monitoring equipment to help you understand your home's radon levels and determine the right next step.
Why Test for Radon ?
Radon is naturally occurring and can be found in homes throughout Ohio. Some homes have low levels, while others can have elevated levels regardless of age, foundation type, or construction style.Radon cannot be seen, smelled, or tasted. Because long-term exposure to elevated radon levels has been linked to an increased risk of lung cancer, testing is the best way to understand your home's radon level.
A radon test can help provide answers and peace of mind for:
Homeowners concerned about indoor air quality
Home buyers during the inspection process
Sellers preparing their home for the market
Homeowners who have never tested before
Professional Continuous Radon Monitoring
At Crist Home Inspection, we use professional continuous radon monitoring equipment to measure radon levels and provide detailed results. Unlike passive test kits, continuous radon monitors provide hourly measurements throughout the testing period, helping identify fluctuations and provide a more complete picture of your home's radon levels.
Our testing process includes:
Proper placement of the radon monitor
Continuous measurement throughout the test period
Detailed reporting of radon levels and test conditions
Explanation of your results and recommended next steps
What If Radon Levels Are Elevated?
If your test shows elevated radon levels, don't panic. Radon problems are common and can usually be reduced with a properly designed mitigation system. Crist Home Inspection can evaluate your home's conditions and discuss mitigation options designed for your specific foundation and layout.
Why Choose Crist Home Inspection?
A Home Inspector's Perspective. Radon doesn't exist separately from your home. Your foundation, basement, crawlspace, sump pit, and construction all influence how radon enters. As a home inspector, I already understand these areas — allowing me to provide more than just a test result.
